2021 Young Photographers Show
Due to the Pandemic, the 2020 SlowExposures Photography Festival and all its connected exhibits and activities, including the 2020 Young Photographers Show, were postponed until 2021. The photographs submitted by the 2020 list of selected photographers will be exhibited, judged, and awarded (independently from the 2021 entries) during SlowExposures 2021.
2021 Jurors
Dr. Dan Dunnahoo is a practicing painter, potter, and photographer. He taught art at Pike County High School for 28 years, from 1981 till his retirement in 2009. He studied at Gordon College and at the University of Georgia, earning both his BFA and MFA in Drawing and Painting and an EdD in Art Education. Since his retirement from teaching he has traveled, devoted himself to his artwork, and continued to teach on an informal basis.
Karen O’Neill Lacey, PhD is a humanities scholar and retired faculty member of Penfield College at Mercer University. She has also taught humanities at Gordon College and English at the public middle school level in rural Georgia. Dr. Lacey co-owns an independent bookstore and has curated art shows at its gallery for 14 years. She is an enthusiastic art collector and has been a supporter of SlowExposures since its beginning.
Our Jurors will award first, second, and third place awards for each division. The show will hang at the R.F. Strickland Center from September 16 – 19, 2021 with a Reception and Awards Ceremony for the photographers on Sunday, September 19th.
