Each year, SlowExposures presents a special exhibition in the Barn at Split Oak Farm. Located off Chapman Road just east of Zebulon, the Barn provides a unique experience in the beautiful pastoral setting beside a pasture with horses.

Join us Friday, September 18-Sunday, September 20 for this year’s Barn Show

Photo Relics for the Memories, Handmade Objects for the Horses

“This is an exhibition of photo objects installed in the barn at Split Oak Farm as part of Slow Exposures. The vernacular architecture of the working barn as a shelter for horses adds a layer of complexity, recalling the animals and people who have passed through. The artists engage with photographs as artifacts—stitched, carved, assembled, layered, and reimagined into forms that invite intimate looking. These evocative creations encourage viewers to consider photographs not simply as images but as handmade relics capable of eliciting memory and emotion.”

Featuring Photographers: Greg Banks, Anne Berry, Addison Brown, Myrtie cope, Isabelle Green, Rebecca Sexton Larson, Chris May, Annabel McGannon, Dale Niles, Linda Plaisted, Charles Shuford, Dawn Surratt, Savannah Watters
