Spicy Gumbo Photo Workshop

Debbie Fleming Caffery has announced a photography workshop based out of her family home in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. This workshop is for the intermediate to advanced photographer looking to immerse themselves in the art of storytelling with traditional photography and creative audio narrative. Under the guidance of master photographers Debbie Caffery and Carlan Tapp, participants will work in the heart of Louisiana’s Cajun Country — home to Debbie.

Debbie is a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute and highly regarded for her fine art and documentary work. She has received many awards and published a book, Carry Me Home, documenting the Louisiana sugar industry. Her photos are in many public collections including The Whitney Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian Institute, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Bibliotecque Nationale in Paris.

Carlan Tapp is a photojournalist and educator dedicated to documenting social and environmental issues that define our time. He studied photography at Art Center College of Design. Carlan has worked with the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service to document social impact on public lands. His photographs have been published in various newspapers and magazines. He teaches workshops with the Santa Fe Workshops and National Geographic Expeditions. Carlan’s photographs are in collections in the U.S., China, Australia, and Spain.
