The 2016 SlowExposures PopUp Tour will consist of eight shows – solo or group, staged in nontraditional venues in and around Zebulon, GA.  Once again, “Passports” will direct visitors to the individual shows.  This year, we will add a “Progressive Juror’s Talk”, stopping at each venue Saturday afternoon.  As visitors follow our PopUp Juror, John Bennette, on the PopUp Tour, they will have an opportunity to view each of the shows and to learn about and appreciate your work from John’s knowledgeable perspective.

The PopUp Tour will be open for visitors between Friday and Sunday afternoons and will be the signature Saturday afternoon event, culminating in the Passport Raffle at The Do Good Dinner Saturday night.

Please check out the fine print below.

Our PopUp Juror for 2016 is John Bennette.

The theme for the 2016 PopUp Tour is “Let Us Praise Southern Celebrations”.  We’d like to see your take on quintessential southern life…work that references the joys of the southern experience and place, be it football games and other celebratory events, spaces and places, magnificent landscapes, or our inhabitants having a good time.

PopUp shows should be set up by noon Friday, September 16 and kept open through 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18.  Arrangements may be made to have “sitters” man your show so that you can participate in other SlowExposures’ events.

Lighting and free-standing display accessories are up to you.

Participants will be asked to donate one matted print per artist to be part of the Passport Raffle at the The Do Good Dinner.

Juried-in participants will be encouraged to deliver a memorable visitor experience to achieve publicity and sales. We’ll provide the venues, the passports, the signage and maps, and the marketing.  You’ll be included in our invitation-only dinners on Thursday and Friday nights. And, we’ll do our best to find you a place to stay in Pike County for the weekend!

The application fee is $15 (free for those who apply by the June 19th deadline for the main show).

The application deadline is July 15, 2016.
