Our 15th Annual Show Celebrating the Rural South
Jurors: Arnika Dawkins and John Wall
Deadline for Submission: Midnight, Sunday, June 18, 2017
Show Dates: September 14 - 17, 2017
After a frenetic year, we're calling our 15th annual show "Unplugged"--for so many reasons. Held during the third weekend in September, "SlowE" is renowned for its intimate, relaxed setting in the rural countryside of west central Georgia.
We invite photographers to submit work that underscores the diversity, contradictions and complexity of the rural American South.
We welcome 2017 Jurors Arnika Dawkins and John Wall. Their selections for the Main Exhibition will highlight a weekend of over a dozen satellite shows, presented in National Register historic venues that reference Pike County's past as a leading cotton producer in the Lower Piedmont. After SlowE weekend, the show will be presented for a month at the Cochran Gallery in LaGrange, Georgia.
We invite those who enter the show to "unplug" and join photographers and photography lovers from across the U.S. to share the experience--to learn, network, and, to have fun during this extraordinary weekend. Applicants for 2017 Main Exhibition will also be entitled to enter the PopUp Show juried by John Bennette and the 2018 SlowAIR Artist in Residence opportunity at no additional cost.
