Theme: “Pike County - Real and Imaginary”

Entry Dates: August 1st thru September 5th, 2008

Four Entry Categories:

I. Friends - Real and Imaginary

II. The Best Place in the World to Be

III. Real Old

IV. Can Your Believe It? (Abstract, surreal, illusionary and/or, humorous photos welcome in this category)

Name your Photographs! By naming your photographs you are automatically entered in a contest for “Best Interpretive Title”. You are not required to name your photograph, but you might win a Special ribbon, so be creative! And it does help the judges see your photo from your unique point of view.

Awards: First, Second, and Third Place winners will be selected in each category. One Grand Champion will be selected from the first place winners in the four categories. Honorable mention photographs will be recognized. Cash Prizes and trophies will be awarded...

$100 - Grand Champion Chosen from the Four First Place Winners
$50 - For Each of the Remaining First Place Winners
$20 - For Each of the Four Second Place Winners
$10 - For Each of the Four Third Place Winners

** NEW ** Special recognition will be given for photographs which display exceptional excellence in the use of photographic color.

All photographs will be on exhibit in conjunction with the Adult Division of SlowExposures, an official venue of Atlanta Celebrates Photography.

Upon completion of this exhibit, student photos will be displayed in the Media Centers at Pike County Schools plus any Private Schools participating, [for one week at each school].
